An overview.
First session from Rs 1000
A humanistic, person centred approach. A safe space to be open and genuine, where you are heard on your own terms.
Individual focused treatment is a humanistic approach that addresses the way in which people define themselves intentionally as opposed to how an instructor can decipher their subconscious musings or thoughts. The therapist in this regard attempts to understand their client's perceptions. At The Hearing Touch, we aim to create a space in which our patrons feel comfortable enough to be open and genuine about their thoughts and feelings.
The work is not about being told what to think. It is about being met where you are, and given room to think out loud without interruption. Many people are surprised at how much they already know, once given the space to say it.
A space to be open. A space to be heard. A space to be you.
Sessions are weekly to begin with, and then settle into whatever rhythm suits the life around them. There is no requirement to keep coming. The aim is for you to leave each session feeling slightly clearer than you arrived.
A quiet rhythm, not a rigid plan.
Therapy is not procedural. These are the four movements you can expect, each one shaped around you.
Arrive.
A short, gentle landing. Whatever you bring is welcome. Nothing has to be sorted before you walk in.
Speak freely.
The conversation goes wherever you need it to. We follow, and ask gently when something seems important.
Be reflected back.
From time to time we mirror what you have said, in case it helps you hear it differently.
Carry something useful.
A small thought, a question, or a thing to notice during the week. Never homework. More like a souvenir.
A few things people often ask.
What if I cannot find the words?
That is often the most important thing to bring. Finding the words is part of the therapy, not a precondition for it.
Is this the right therapy for me?
If you are not sure, an evaluation is a good place to start. You can decide afterwards.
How often will we meet?
Weekly is typical to begin. Many clients move to fortnightly or monthly as things settle.
Can I bring difficult or shameful things?
Yes. That is often where the most useful work happens. There is no judgement in the room.
